An inspirational thing happened when I was showing my mother the art work I have posted in the past 6 or 7 weeks on DA..My mom didn't know I had started drawing and that I enjoyed it so much..Of course my mom said she "loved" my art but that was no big surprise since I have such a great mom What really inspired me was when she told me about my uncle who passed away a few years ago that I didn't know about...She said the last time I saw him was when I was 4 years old.She told me he was a really good Artist and that I would sit and watch him draw for hours and hours at a time.
I looked him up on the internet and sure enough I found a lot of articles on him..He went by the name of Floyd "Nature Boy" Choat.I was very inspired and impressed when I found out that he drew for so many organizations.Here are just a few of those organizations he did art work for - The National Enquier,Hustler,Airforce,Humor,The Globe,VA Troopers,California Highway Patrol,Union Communications Service News,Mini Comics,Oh Comics and many more Independent and Underground comics..
Hmm,this got me to thinking.Maybe this is why I enjoy drawing so much - It's In My Genes and in my Blood
My mom actually had 3 copies of his art work and I am going to post them in my gallery when I finish this in Uncle Floyd's Memory.
One more thing that shows it must be in my genes and blood is that I enjoy drawing Conan and Vamperilla and it just so happens to be 2 of the prints I have of his work are these characters..Kinda odd ain't it?
